Before listening

Glossary:

1.      adventure – an exciting or dangerous experience

2.      brave – not showing that you are afraid; (syn) courageous, fearless, gutsy (informal)

3.      get full – to include or contain many things;

4.      get on – (ph.v) to manage to live or do sth well, especially with little help; (syn)to cope with, to succeed; How are you getting on? = How is your business doing?

5.      journey – an act of travelling from one place to another, especially when it takes a long time and is difficult;  is usually one-way trip; 

6.      negatives – pieces of film from which we make photographs;

7.      sound – to make a loud or disturbing noise especially as a warning or signal; (syn): honk;

8.      proof facts or documents that show that sth is true; (syn) evidence

Part I.

1.  When the alarm sounded, Karen was in front of the scanner.
